Birth of a Blog

Hi! I’m Raquel. I am a 24 year old wife and mother of 2 (although some days I’ll say my husband qualifies as number 3). I am a full time college student by night, and stay at home mom by day. Quite a handful for someone so young, right? You may find yourself asking why I wanted to write a blog and, more importantly, why you should keep up with it. I’ll try to explain as best I can.

When I became a mom naturally so much of my life changed but I was, for the most part, the same person with the same interests as before. Still, I slowly lost friends. They assumed that somehow becoming a mom meant that I wouldn’t understand inside jokes anymore, that I wouldn’t enjoy our lunch dates or girls nights, that I didn’t want to participate in our group chats… Somehow, becoming a mother made me uncool. I eventually joined a mommy group. While I have gained so much advice and insight from them and enjoy being a part of it, I am one of the youngest moms of 70+ members. Here’s where the blogging part comes in.

I can’t do what I want and when I want like others my age who don’t have children. But I have not obtained a degree, become set in my career and lived life like older moms have. I fall somewhere in the middle. I have yet to find a blog that I can fully relate to. This morning I woke up and decided to create it. I am The Cool Mom, welcome to my blog.

I can definitely relate to what your going thru or feel . I am 27 and have 3 girls a 10yr old , 2 yr, and a 1 yr old . I was actually 17 when I first got pregnant and my life changed completely . But I manage to overcome being a young mom thanks to my parents . And now when I got pregnant again with my 2 yr old years later I had start all over again . I had to quit my job to become a stay at home mom . Thinking I would go back to work once she was a little bigger we got a nice surprise with my third baby . Before my last two girls I use to go out with friends to clubs , bars or just to movies . And now the only friends I have are my girls lol . Even having to have some alone time or a date night with my boyfriend seems impossible at times. But it’s all worth it in the end . Seeing your children’s smile, laugh , cry I wouldn’t want to have it any other way . Good luck to you . You have beautiful children . I think it’s awesome that you made this blog . I am sure a lot of moms can relate .

  • Great idea! Just always remember, they don’t stay this young forever and this too shall pass! It will help you on those (very often) sleepless nights! 💕
